
Pont-Viau is a neighbourhood located in the city of Laval. It is borded to the South-East by the Des Prairie River, to the North-West by Vimont, to the North-East by Duvernay and to the South-West by Laval-des-Rapides. This neighbourhood was named after the bridge that crosses the Des Prairies River. This bridge was named Viau because the first inhabitant of this region was called Christophe Veau. Due to a spelling mistake, this name became Viau.
