Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Benefiting his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will be working company-wide on new product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, amongst others. Mirza is based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports directly to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Just before joining Hilton, Mirza was a senior executive in the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Before Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was responsible for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career at First Financial, Inc. and opened the first U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes many years of project management knowledge of Deloitte/Braxton Associates inside the regions of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he dealt with Alex Mirza in the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries within the parts of customer strategy, new product development and service innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, using a concentrate on brand marketing and corporate strategy. He also holds an M.A. in Economics and a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
